Search for Specific Users
Using this window, you have extensive filter options to quickly search for single students or groups of students. As shown in the screen below, filtering mechanisms on this page are:
If your search results in a list of multiple users, you can export this list into a spreadsheet for easy all at once modification of their settings. Read more about the process for creating your first user set, exporting users and uploading users.
Search by Name
The first option for narrowing this list is to search by name of the users. Simply start typing the name and Foundry will try to show all entries resulting from your filter. The resulting users will be presented in list form as usual.
Filter by Role
The available roles are presented in a selection box in the filters area, as shown in the screenshot below. After selecting a specific role, Foundry will gather the users with that role and present them in list form.
Filter by Group
Filtering by group works the same way as by role. The list with options to choose from will vary from school to school and could be quite long. It will be important to adopt a smart naming convention for your groups, so that advisors will be able to differentiate and recognize the groups that pertain to their areas of interest.
As soon as a group name is selected from the list, Foundry will search and present all users associated with the group.
Filter for active / inactive status
If your search results in a list of multiple users, you can export this list into a spreadsheet for easy all-at-once modification of their settings. To generate the spreadsheet with users, click on the 'Export Selected' button at the bottom of the screen.
Edit Selected Users
Editing a Foundry User is done through the use of a popup panel. Access this panel through clicking on the pencil to the right of the individual user to be edited.
To edit multiple users simultaneously, follow these additional steps:
- Narrow your list of Users to edit by using one or a combination of filter options.
- Select the Users to be edited by checking the box in front of their names.
- Click on the 'Edit Selected Users' option above the list of Users.
