V 1.1 / Last Updated 09-18-2017
In larger schools, or schools with larger advisory groups, staying on top of individual students' progress becomes a time consuming task. To assist advisors in this daily challenge, we refined the way in which we enable you to manage finding individual students and their experience work.
We offer three ways of searching and filtering on Experience Cards. These can be used independently, or in combination with each other.
You can combine these for a powerful approach to increase the efficiency of your daily tasks.
- The pre-formatted Experience Status based filters across the top of the window.
- Narrow the number of cards by selecting for a specific student only.
- Use the secondary filters (Time periods, Sorting and direct typing of Experience titles) for further narrowing down the results list.
Student List Search
Student lists can be found in most windows as a list in the left margin of the screen.
The students included in this listing belong to one or more specific Groups, such as Advisory Groups.
Each Name with a 'plus' sign in front of it, represents the full group of students belonging to that group. Clicking on the 'plus' sign unfolds the group to show all students.
These lists can be sorted based on advisor preference: by first name or by last name, from A-Z or from Z-A order.
Searching for your student in order to be able to zoom in on specific experiences, etc. is now more sophisticated than ever.
There are 5 modalities for the student list on the Experiences and the Performance pages.
Experience Card Search
On the Experience page, we also introduce a filtering mechanism to quickly find specific experiences.
The options 'Requested', 'Active', 'Completed', 'Overdue' enable you to select experiences for a specific status, further narrowed for a specific student. All experiences in the system are readily available for your use. Switching students causes that set of related experiences to be presented.
In addition to the pre-set filters introduced above, it is also possible to create your own set of search criteria. To start, select 'Customer Search' from the menu.
As an Advisor, you have the option to use additional search criteria to narrow down your result list of students and experiences.
You now have the additional criteria of 'time frame', 'Title or Description' (text search), filter by status, and filter by status of the experience. Each on of these can be used in combination with the others.
See below for the specific options that are available in each of the selection menus.
You can modify the length of time (how far back in time you need to search) by using the first menu:
In addition to selecting from pre-defined day-ranges, you may also opt to request a fully custom range of time by using the 'customer dates' option.
The range of time selected will adjust the experiences that are available to select from. Each of the categories of experiences will be updated to indicate how many of that type fall within the selected time frame.
You can sort the experiences in the result set by specific status (or multiple):
The sort options available are straightforward.
They apply to the specific set of experience cards visible in the view. Selecting a different card set (switching from 'active' to 'requested' for instance) will keep the sort order that was requested until the user changes the sort preference again.
